Good Evening All,
The hunt briefing will start between 6:15 and 6:30, so if you would like to eat before the hunt please arrive accordingly. We want to get out there before it gets too hot!
If you can make it, see you in the morning!!
Maxie Branch Hunt Club Members,
Please meet at the Buck Road gate off Hwy 521 at 7:00 am this Saturday for the workday. We’ve still got a lot of work to do and a very short time to accomplish what we need to accomplish. Our goal this Saturday is to finish the road around the cut down between Buck Road and Hwy 521 in addition to trimming roads and hopefully cutting the turn-arounds on the 500 acre tract if we can get permission. In addition to hand tools, any equipment you have is appreciated. If we have enough personnel and equipment, we may be able to get an early start on our food plots which we intend to finish the last Saturday in August.
Hunting season is fast approaching and due to the weather, there have been a couple of workdays that have been cancelled. Each member is obligated to attend 1/3 of the scheduled workdays (or do work on your own time if you can’t attend) and due to the weather cancellations, the magic number of workdays for this year is five. The season will be upon us in two weeks and this is an opportunity for those of you who still owe to meet your obligation to the club.
As always, give me a call with questions.
Hunting season is fast approaching. The weather has not been kind to us this year and we have some serious road damage that needs to be repaired or we’ll have areas we won’t be able to access.
The major road issue is on Coon Road down by Polly’s pond. The road is currently washed out by two of the ponds and completely impassable. This needs to be our first project.
If you are available this Saturday, please meet at the parking area on Prairie Rd at 0700. If you have access to any heavy equipment, please bring that as well. In addition to the area around Polly’s Pond, we have other road areas that need some attention as well as food plots that need prepping.
Equipment that would be nice to have: bulldozer, back hoe, tractors with disc’s and bush hogs in addition to the normal hand tools.
Please give me a call and let me know if you have questions.
Due to the projected rainfall amounts with the current tropical storm system moving through the area through Friday, we’ve decided to cancel the work day for this Saturday. There really is no need to do $1000 dollars of damage to our roads in order to only accomplish $50 worth of work.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Don’t forget the meeting this month. All members are encouraged to attend.
