7 points, 188.5 pounds, first buck. Congrats Shawn.
Hunting season is fast approaching. The weather has not been kind to us this year and we have some serious road damage that needs to be repaired or we’ll have areas we won’t be able to access.
The major road issue is on Coon Road down by Polly’s pond. The road is currently washed out by two of the ponds and completely impassable. This needs to be our first project.
If you are available this Saturday, please meet at the parking area on Prairie Rd at 0700. If you have access to any heavy equipment, please bring that as well. In addition to the area around Polly’s Pond, we have other road areas that need some attention as well as food plots that need prepping.
Equipment that would be nice to have: bulldozer, back hoe, tractors with disc’s and bush hogs in addition to the normal hand tools.
Please give me a call and let me know if you have questions.
Due to the projected rainfall amounts with the current tropical storm system moving through the area through Friday, we’ve decided to cancel the work day for this Saturday. There really is no need to do $1000 dollars of damage to our roads in order to only accomplish $50 worth of work.
Sorry for the inconvenience. Don’t forget the meeting this month. All members are encouraged to attend.
A reminder we have a work day this Saturday, June 8. Our plan is to meet at the parking area on Prairie Rd on the Stogdill tract at 7:00 am and split up from there. Our goals for this weekend are to inspect all club stands on both the Stogdill tract and the Mooney Player tract for safety, do some trimming along the roads on the Mooney Player tract and identify dog turn out areas on the Stogdill tract.
It would be nice to have as many dog men as possible present this Saturday to help identify dog turn out areas since you guys are the experts.
If you have a weedeater with a chain saw attachment, lopping shears or a machete, please bring them this weekend.
As always, thanks in advance,
